Alpha males. Intelligent heroines. Lots of drama, sexual tension, violence, and smut.
The perfect combination.
Mafia romance books have become increasingly popular in recent years, with readers drawn to the dangerous and intense world of organized crime.
So, I have decided to round up my top 5 spicy mafia romance books this month.
Enjoy.
The chemistry between Morana Vitalio and Tristan Caine is just amazing. Their entire plot has been written so beautifully, so intricately. It is the first book I picked up after a year-long reading slump and I fell in love with this author.
Not only is their chemistry incredible, but the plot of the book, and the consecutive series, are so well written that I forgot I had work to do in the morning. I devoured these books.
And the spice. God damn, the spice. The build up. The stare downs. The scene form the restaurant. Holy shit.
On my way to read.
When I tell you I want my partner to be obsessed, I mean in the way Zeno and Darla are with each other.
The story starts off as an enemies-to-lovers and turns into a marriage of convenience. Which later turns into the most beautiful form of love.
I mean, he buys her a vineyard in Italy because she loves wine. He also builds her own workspace to write. Come on. I literally screamed into my pillow.
Its refreshing to see a book where the MMC has a healthy family relationship (spoiler alert - up to a certain point). And the FMC has a stuck-up mother whom I just want to punch in the face.
I keep re-reading the scene from his office and the one from the caves. *swoons*
As soon as I was a couple of chapters in I realised how genuine mafia vibes emanated from this book.
This includes the whole set up towards introducing the family, the 'business', the marriage contract along with the women being sent everywhere with their brothers accompanying them as guards.
Be warned, this book had miscommunication trope, which I don't usually prefer but it was done in a way that only built up the tension.
Nico and Elena together are just beautiful. He is engaged to his sister but 'circumstances' and the obvious chemistry leads to the both of them getting married.
This book was my descent into Sophie Lark's world of dark romances and I was immediately hooked.
Callum and Aida were so damn perfect. She is absolutely hilarious, desperately trying not to be overshadowed by her brothers but ends up being married against her wishes in bid to maintain relations between her & Callum's dad.
Spoiler - Callum is deathly allergic to strawberries and Aida eats a bunch of it on their wedding day, leading to Callum spending their wedding night in the hospital. He also takes revenge by pushing her into the pool.
But, BUT, I fell in love with the scene where she comes back to save him. Just *swoons*.
Let me start off by saying that I have full intentions of starting a Sinners Anonymous hotline, or at least the less murderous version of it.
Moving on to the book, the FMC is forcefully engaged to a 70 year old man who threatens to remove her father from a beloved and important piece of land.
She curses in bird words and her sins extend to cutting holes in her fiance's clothes.
But the confessions, god damn, the confessions and the punishments had me screaming.
Trust me, you will not regret it.
Thank you so much for reading. This is just the first part of TDD's recommendations. Stay tuned for more.
