The Predator by RuNyx is the first book in the Dark Verse series and is hands down, one of my favorite romance books of all time.
It isn’t just about the main characters Morana and Tristan (who I absolutely adore), but also about how compelling the plot and storyline.
Let’s dive right in.
What are the tropes of ‘The Predator’ by Runyx?
Dark romance
Grumpy x sunshine (actually, make that Grumpy x Badass)
Enemies-to-lovers
Mafia romance
Slow burn, spicy romance
Summary of The Predator by RuNyx
Morana is the techie genius daughter of the Vitalio crime boss. Whereas Tristan is the lethal, and only non-blood member of the Maroni family.
Their families have been rivals for decades.
Until Morana and Tristan’s worlds collide after a bunch of her codes are stolen.
Soon, a twenty-year-old mystery begins to resurface, and they realize that there is so much more they don’t know. Their fates entwined long before the codes.
Between all the mystery and intrigue shrouding their lives, they begin to find solace in one another. It isn’t merely sparks that are flying between the two, it is an inferno. One full of desire, obsession, and maybe something much more.
Review of The Predator by RuNyx
First off, I just want to say that this book made me fall back in love with reading.
Secondly, I was in love with how badass and intelligent Morana was. It was refreshing to read about a character like her.
Third, I am and will forever be a die-hard Tristan Caine fan (which is a very PG-13 language I am using here).
And last, I was absolutely blown away by just how greatly the book was written, how the slow-burn was actually slow-burn, and how amazing the chemistry was between these two.
Highly recommend it. 5 stars all the way.
