And today, we are going to be discussing our favourite romance tropes and I am going to be giving you one bomb book recommendation for each one.

Romance Book Tropes
Enemies to Lovers: The main characters start off disliking or even hating each other. Then the touches, kisses, and the slow burn. *Fans self* This is my favourite trope and is on the top of the list.
Book recommendation: The Predator by RuNyx (Yes, yes, I am biased towards this book only because these two have my heart)
Friends to Lovers: The protagonists begin as friends and gradually develop romantic feelings for each other. There is longing. There is shyness. There is hesitancy. But so much more beautiful when they get together.
Book recommendation: People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
Forbidden Love: The protagonists face significant obstacles or societal pressures that make their love seemingly impossible. Employer-employee, different backgrounds, races etc.
Book recommendation: Twisted Games by Ana Huang (The origin of the 'crawl to me' trope)
Fake Dating or Fake Relationship: The main characters pretend to be in a romantic relationship for various reasons, which eventually leads to them developing real feelings for each other.
Book recommendation: Twisted Lies by Ana Huang (While I love Rhys, Christian Harper will always be my favourite Twisted man)
Amnesia Romance: One of the characters suffers from memory loss, and the other helps them rediscover their past, leading to a new romantic connection or re-developing the old one.
Book recommendation: The Finisher by RuNyx (Zephyr is probably one of the most beautiful characters I have ever come across)
Arranged Marriage: The couple is forced into a marriage by their families or circumstances but ends up falling in love.
Book recommendation: King of Wrath by Ana Huang (WHERE IS MY WIFE? *swoons*)
Love Triangle: The main character is torn between two potential love interests, creating tension and drama in the story.
Book recommendation: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Forced Proximity: The main characters are brought together in close quarters or specific circumstances, leading to the development of a romantic relationship.
Book recommendation: The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas
Dark Romance: It is characterized by its exploration of intense, taboo, or controversial themes and relationships between flawed or morally ambiguous characters.
Book recommendation: God of Wrath by Rina Kent (Please, please read the trigger warnings)
Best friend’s brother/sister: It involves a romantic relationship between the main character and the sibling of their close friend, leading to conflicts and complications due to the pre-existing connection between the characters.

Billionaire Romance: One or both of the main characters is a wealthy billionaire, and the story revolves around their romantic relationship with another character.

Bully Romance: the main characters' relationship involves elements of bullying, dominance, or power imbalances that eventually evolve into a complex and emotionally intense romantic dynamic.
Book recommendation: Brutal Obsession by S. Massery (The table scene at the party, lordd)
Second Chance Romance: The story revolves around a couple who had a previous romantic relationship but broke up and then get a chance to rekindle their love.
Book recommendation: It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover (Team Atlas forever)
Secret Identity: One or both main characters conceal their true identities from each other, leading to heightened tension and intrigue as their feelings develop.
Book recommendation: The Fine Print by Lauren Asher (he watches 17 versions of Romeo and Juliet for her)
Age Gap Romance: When there is a significant difference in age between the two main characters involved in a romantic relationship.
Book recommendation: Sweet Temptation by Cora Reilly (Mafia men will forever be my favorite)
